Do they have a drug for this?

This past week has been beautiful! Could not ask for better weather. I got to host the great girls from our Sunday School class Thursday. I look forward to the ladies nights each month. We just get together and basically eat and talk a few hours. It's a nice release. Well, I decided that I wanted to have a game night. The Amys suggested a game called Nerts since we didn't have enough to play Bunco. If you haven't played Nerts, give it a try, it was a blast. Paul took the girls to Chick-fe-la to get them out of the house for a while. But it was really busy, so they didn't stay long. After getting home, Jules decided she wanted to join us. I know I should have been nice and said "sure honey come on," but this is usually my ONLY grown up girl time. My sweet/ crazy spirited daughter was getting very loud (could be because we were yelling during the game :) But I started shhhhing her. Finally Paul got the idea, and made her come back in her room to play with him and Lilly, but I couldn't stop shhhhing!! It was so embarrassing. Is this so embedded in my mind that any noise and I'm going to shhhh everyone?! I kept apologizing, but a few minutes later and I would hear the SHHHHHH. Lord help me. Do you think I could get a script for this? I bet it would be called, the DeMommy me for 3 hour drink...or the anti obnoxious host drug...Sorry girls for the shhhhing. I had a great time.

Kindergarden! 'Mom, you are crazy if you think I am going with this lady!'

Really! Is it possible? Is it really time for you to start Kindergarten!!??

Jules, I think about 2 weeks old?

Jules today, 4 1/2 years old. Kindergarten registration day.

I've really tried to be positive about this time in her life. I know she will have fun meeting new friends, learning new things.

We showed up about 20 min early, after hearing that the school we are zoned for fills up quickly.

There was already a line, so we took our place at the back. Soon I was handed a file folder with aprox 15 billion papers to fill out on my sweet.

In the meantime, I had discussed with Jules that some people would be asking her a few questions about numbers and ABC's..so on and so on. She always does best if she knows what to expect.

WELL.... A very sweet lady comes over to her and ask Jules to come with her. Jules is looking at me like 'you are crazy mom if you think I am going with her.'

So after the nice lady (principle) tried several tactics including validating her fears, explaining what they would be doing...Jules looks at her straight in the face and says "NO, I will not go with you."

Have to say, proud of my strong/ stand your ground girl, but we did then have to have another conversation about how school is different, and you need to do what teachers ask you to do. Especially when it comes to work stuff.
(and especially the Principal)

After some prompting from the woman that taught her to stand her ground, she went with them.

Now for the soap box:
WTH with three full sheets designated solely to ADHD questions. Why do these folks insist on labeling these children so early in life. This crap will follow them for the rest of their school career. And not everyone is lucky enough to get loving caring teachers, that are willing to give them their own chance.

I know alot of this is steaming from my own torture, other wise known as SCHOOL. And she is my first, and oldest, and I am so protective of her.

Baby, I love you and your wild and crazy spirit. I will always be here for you, no matter what. I hope you LOVE school!

Recovory

Hey guys! I've missed you! We've been stuck in the house for days with snow and sick children (and a daddy). We got somewhere around 5-6 inches I think, in 3 or 4 rounds. For central Arkansas, that's pretty good. We usually just get ice. Jules, Amelia, and Paul all had colds, and Lilly had high fevers. She usually will run pretty high when she is sick, but it's always worrisome when your baby runs 105*. Since that is seizure zone, I lay next to her in bed, making her drink ice water, and she gets to watch movies all day, in between naps. Since her birthday a month ago, the only thing she has wanted to watch is Toy Story 1,2,&3. They are cute movies, but after 10,000,000 times, it's getting OLD!

We had a Sunday School Valentines party at Cantina Laredo this past weekend. Mom was great enough to come stay with my sickly children to let us go. We had so much fun! We played a trivia game, and found out some funny facts about our friends.

It's Valentines Day. Do you love this holiday?
I've never quite enjoyed it, but this year I am really into decorating for it. Hearts are sweet when you have 3 girls in the house. They have loved the glitter and the fact that we have hearts of every color, not just red and pink.

I think I'm going to make some chalk board vases today. We are having our ladies night at my house this week, and I need some fun new decorations.

So, what are you planning? I know you are out there.

I'm a bad nurse!

It's been a while. But over the last few days I've been busy. I couldn't sleep last Thursday night, tossed and turned all night. I had gone to the Dr Wed, but they said things looked ok, but I woke up Friday shaking and feeling like crap. Then ended up in the worst pain of my life, yes even worse than child birth. I tried to remain calm, but when you can't breath you tend to get a little panicky.
Lilly kept asking if she could sing me the B-I-B-L-E song, to make me feel better.
Jules was trying to rub my back. Sweet girls, were worried about their momma.
Thankfully, we have great parents that came to get the girls and Paul took me to the ER. Here comes the bad nurse part. (After posting a comment last week regarding being nice to your nurse :(
We got to the ER, but seeing as how the pain was so bad, every time I moved I barfed. The triage nurse tried to take my temp, and I threw the prob at her. Then when they did get me in the room, and the nurse left, I was "loudly suggesting" that she hurry up. BUT, when they wanted me to go to the restroom before giving me pain meds, I think that's when I forgot my manners.
To make it short, I had a kidney stone. I had them in the past, but this one was much, much worse. Thankfully, my mother-in-law showed up and decided as well that they weren't moving quite fast enough, and helped them hurry a little faster :)
5 days latter and I still haven't passed the thing. Going to the urologist next week.
The girls have gotten to watch a lot of TV this week.
