Lilly's 3rd birthday party!

(I have spilt coffee on my laptop! So, my keyboard is crunching as I type this.)
We had Lilly's birthday party this weekend. It started off as a barnyard them, because she loves tractors, but with the recently watched Toy Story, she quickly has turned into Jessie. The party was at out church. And our friends and neighbors Jim and Linda McConnell, of Reminisce, graciously volunteered to video and photograph the party. I wish I could show you all of the pictures, and the video is priceless. There are quite a few pics, so her we go.
Started off with the pig pin cake.
Lilly lives on "chok me-lk"
Everyone got to take home a picture frame, and will receive a special picture.
Lilly with her pig balloon
Cassidey is a great hugger.
Amelia rubs her head when she's tired.

Fun with air hockey

She gets excited :)
Lilly got tired form all the fun and had to lay down for a minute (literally just a minute)
We had a smore station.
Amelia thoroughly enjoyed chocolate.
We had a hard time getting the girls to pose together for a picture.
Everyone went on the hay ride.
Lilly likes to drive with Pawpaw. So stinking cute!

Sweet birthday girl.
Jules and Regan giving kisses.
Each child say with Lilly in the "truck bed" while she opened their present. Thing was, no one wanted to get down when it was time for the next kid. Who can blame them, it did look comfortable.
Lilly opened this cow dog from her Ni and Papaw, and immediately began hugging and rocking it so seriously. I would love to know what was going through their heads.
This shot shows the skills of Ms Linda. Lilly was in a pretty crabby mood by this point, but Linda somehow got her to smile.
Everyone enjoys a wagon ride.
Fun times = great laughs
Thank you so much to all of our friends and family for making this such a fun time for our sweet little Lilly.
And supper thanks to Jim and Linda, for videoing and photographing the party. I highly recommend having someone video your party. It's priceless, someone not worried about chasing a kid, or preoccupied with other things, that can capture all the great moments that the parents miss "doing" the party. Plus, it is set to music and with a great setup.
If you're looking for someone local, I would recommend Reminisce Video, DVD, and digital photography

Sweet Pea is 3

Today is your Birthday Lilly!
With her new helmet that she wore for a solid week!
You are full of life, and complete joy!
You make great "funny faces!" And are good at making people laugh.
You are a great big sister to Amelia. You try to share with her, and don't hit her when she pulls your hair. :)
You recently have been watching Toy Story 3. Since, you and Jules have been playing "Jessie and Woody". So, you got new pink "Jesse Boots" for your birthday.
You are a good helper, like most foods (especially all of your daddy's hot foods), love to run, and snort to get your sisters to laugh.

You play well by your self, but get really upset when mommy and daddy go out without you.
You like to watch me cook. You can melt a heart with that smile. And remind us that your nickname is Sweet Pea.You are such a sweet girl, and we love you very much!

I was trying to put in this Valentine backdrop, but somehow still have the grass. Out of time to fix it, so maybe tonight. For now off to work at my new job, which I love. Kids will be with Granny daycare :)

Eyes

I swore I would never lie to you.
Jules
I swore that I would always tell you the truth, no matter how hard it would be. I swore to always explain even the most difficult to you, the best way possible. But, as time wore on, I began hearing those words "because I said so. Because I'm your mother. I know because I have eyes in the back of my head." The lazy words of an exhausted mother.
So what was I to expect when they began to come back at me?

Today, I was sitting at the computer, my back to the girls. Jules says, "mommy, read your shirt to me." I said, "I can't right now, I don't want to take it off to see the back."

Jules: "What? Can the eyes in the back not look down?"

Working on those goals

Remember how I told you about my goal of not worrying about the house being perfect, well...I'm beginning to wonder if I've gone too far the other way. Things are out of hand. On the other hand, I'm loving all the organizational tips that are being talked about during this oh, so great, time of inspiration. This week...the closets.
Amelia's closet
The hall closet! HELP!
And the upstairs, it needs a whole week to itself! This is a big house, with no storage! Must make some.
On another note, Paul and I switched "roles" yesterday. I woke up way too tired, with way too whiny of kids, and stated that " I was not going to be mommy today, Daddy is mommy and I am daddy." Which meant the following: Any time the kids started screaming, fighting, yelling..times "mommy"would intervene, Paul went to the rescue. "Mommy" planed/fixed all meals (he's better at this anyway) and "mommy" took care of any discipline that was needed. "Daddy, (me)" was in charge of playing, being the "good guy", and making snacks. It was a GREAT day. I think this needs to become a regular thing. But just maybe not on Sundays, we never made it to church! ;)

New year, same life

Still can't seem to get the rap up of Christmas done, so here are a few more pictures, and things for the new year.
After Christmas, we had one more get together with my M-I-Ls family. Lilly always has a smile, but usually doesn't bond with you quickly. For what ever the reason, she LOVES Paul's uncle Cliff. Last year she baked him fake cookies all night, and this year she ran, jumped in his lap and decided she was going home with him to spend the night. This is them, with Aunt SanDee. I'm sure they would be willing to spend nights with a wild 2 year old!
We spent New Years Eve with Amelia, watching Dexter via Netflix, did P90X ( I have never yelled at Paul more!) and were in bed by 10:30. :) Jules and Lilly had a sleepover with Ni and Papaw. I began taking the tree down the nest day, and discovered that Dieago had been" put to sleep"
Found more of Lilly's mystery pics on my camera while uploading.
Lilly deciding that I was not going to go get ready.
Well, it might be a new year, but it's still the same ole' days.
Hey, I start my new job this week, yay!
